5th Annual Cruisin to the Oldies Car Show in Senoia Sept 26th

9/4/09 The 5th Annual Cruisin' to the Oldies Car Show on Main Street in downtown Senoia will be held Saturday, September 26th from noon-5pm. Always a popular, family event, the car show draws entries and visitors from all over Georgia and a few other states as well. “The Car Guys,” Scott Sargeant and Charlie Filkins, will be emceeing the event. Early registration is $15.00 through Friday, September 25th. Registration is $20.00 the day of the show. Registration forms may be downloaded at www.senoia.com. Dash plaques will be presented to the first 250 cars registered. The crowd pleasing “Sock Hops,” will play from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. The Sock Hops' performance range extends from doo-wop to Motown; swing to beach; stroll to shag; and twist to top 40. Courtney Oliver is appreciated for his heartfelt interpretation of Louis Armstrong's “What a Wonderful World,” while the group's Scott Cruce is known for his show-stopping “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” Larry Lysse's high energy shines through with his rendition of “Mustang Sally,” and Doug Jacques' bass is featured in “Monster Mash.” Ward Hiss brings a mellow sound with his lead vocals on “Margaritaville” and “As Time Goes By,” while production engineer Ed Lyon keeps the background music flowing so the Sock Hops may take you back to good, old-fashioned memories of yesterday.
The Varsity will be back again this year cooking all-time favorites. Churn ‘N Scoop will have homemade ice cream. Additional street vendors will provide Hawaiian shaved ice, kettle corn, cotton candy and barbeque. Senoia's downtown merchants and restaurants will be open all day. Awards, door prizes, 50/50 drawings, shopping, food and fun await at this fun, free, family event in downtown Senoia.
