Paralympian Skier Josh Sundquist Headlines Benefit for The Children's Village
|
3/1/10 Christian City announces their Spring Gala to benefit the Children’s Village on May 20th at the Georgia International Convention Center. Christian City has been caring for abandoned and abused children in a family centered residential setting since 1965. Well over 1,000 children have called Christian City “home.” Guests will enjoy a delicious dinner, silent auction, and an inspiring message from Josh Sundquist. Josh is a paralympic skier and motivational speaker who was recently featured on CNN and USA Today. Josh made the 2006 US Paralympic Ski Team after facing a rare
form of bone cancer when he was nine years old. He underwent
chemotherapy and his left leg was amputated. By the time Josh
was thirteen, he was cancer-free and learning to manage life as
an amputee. When he was sixteen, he took up downhill ski
racing and body building. Josh’s accomplishments are not just on the slopes and in the
gym. He served as a National Spokesperson for the Combined
Federal Campaign, raising over $300 million dollars a year for
charities. Josh just released his memoir, Just Don’t Fall, this
past January. He has also been published in The Washington Post,
Daily Guideposts, and Current, Newsweek’s college magazine.
Tickets for the event are $125. Please call 770-703-2636 to
