PCTA Executive Director Resigns

2/26/10 The Peachtree City Tourism Association (PCTA) announced today that Executive Director Lauren Yawn has submitted her letter of resignation, effective Friday, March 5, to pursue other opportunities. Yawn has served in her position since 2005.

Bill Bexley, Chairman of the PCTA, said, “On behalf of the Tourism Board and staff, I want to thank Lauren for her many contributions.  We have enjoyed working with her and wish her well in her future endeavors.”

The PCTA serves as the marketing arm for Peachtree City, funded by the Hotel/Motel tax collected locally for the specific purpose of attracting visitors to the community.  The non-profit agency was formed in 2003 for this reason and to assume the management of the Peachtree City Tennis Center and the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater.  The PCTA turned the management of both venues back over to the City in 2009 to focus more directly on tourism.

Bexley stated the PCTA Board will immediately begin a search to fill the Executive Director position.
