    University of West Georgia Sponsors UWG Day at Capitol

    2/6/10 The University of West Georgia sponsored UWG Day at
    Georgia’s state Capitol on Thursday, Jan. 28, with more than 175 students, faculty, alumni and university administrators visiting state legislators. A key issue for discussion was the funding of a building for UWG’s School of Nursing. Discussing the topic with Rep. Lynn Smith (seated) were (standing, l-r) Judy Rowell, National Alumni Association Board of Directors; Dr. Cindy Epps, professor of nursing; Dr. Susan Ashford, assistant professor of nursing; and Cathy Wright, director of the UWG Newnan Center. UWG offers nursing programs on the main campus in Carrollton and in Newnan, Rome and Dalton.
